There are a number of ongoing projects being delivered by Phoenix Supported Employment Service. All our current projects reflect our traditional area of work: removing barriers to employment for young people with disabilities or special needs. Our success depends not only on the determination of the individual student but also on the partnership between Phoenix, colleges and employers.

Loreto College Project.

Phoenix SES has been working with Loreto College (link) in Hulme, Manchester since 2002. Loreto College is part of a network of colleges that spans six continents. Already widely recognized for its high standards and the achievements of its students, it has recently been awarded 'Outstanding' status in its OFSTED report and was placed among the top three colleges in the United Kingdom. OFSTED commented that "The college's approach to educational and social inclusion is outstanding. .". We have been able to work with them through their Pathways to Independence Department and together have enabled numerous students to gain employment.

Salford Colleges Project

Since 2002 Phoenix SES has been working with Eccles college, supporting learning disabled students into employment and more recently the service has been extended to include all colleges in the Salford area including Pendleton, Worsley and Salford Colleges.

New Schools Project

Since March 2007 Phoenix SES has been working with Harrop Fold School in Little Hulton as part of a project to reduce the number of Salford school leavers falling into the NEET category. The project has met with success and there are plans to expand this service into other areas of Greater Manchester.
